CENTRAL MINNESOTA ART CO-OP

MISSION:

Our mission is to creatively enhance our community through the arts and arts education.

The Central Minnesota Arts Co-op believes that the practice of creating art is a meaningful part of the human experience and should be practiced by those of all talents and abilities.

We are committed to providing central Minnesota with ongoing access to knowledge of varied art media, a space and materials with which to practice art, and a professional gallery where art can be displayed and sold.

HISTORY: The Central Minnesota Art Co-op (CMAC) was started as an "Assumed Name" under The Print and Web Shop, LLC in February of 2013. It was started as gallery of friends and soon began to grow as area artist asked how they could become a part of this gallery setting. CMAC became a non-profit organization in May of 2013 and now has over 100 members.

OVERVIEW: The Central Minnesota Art Co-op offers a creative environment for the artistic community to interface with the arts through learning, creating and selling. We welcome the beginning student through experienced artists at any age.

Education and Outreach: The co-op supports the mission of enhancing and expanding arts education in Central Minnesota by working with teachers, art associations and home-school programs. Within three years, the co-op hopes to gain State of MN accreditation.

CMAC has developed a great selection of art workshops and community events. Plus offer open studios for advanced, on-your-own art study.

Community: A thriving art facility in a community can translate into an all-around better community. Art spaces benefit communities by animating deteriorated historic structures and/or underutilized spaces; they foster safety and liveliness within neighborhoods; anchor art districts and expand access to the arts; plus attract additional artists, art businesses, organizations and supporting non-arts businesses to an area.
